Harper’s Nursery

Creating Harper’s nursery was so exciting. My nesting mode while being pregnant started early and having her room be a fun project for me helped me channel it into her room. I ended up finishing her room early and I would often just sit in there soaking in the moments before she would arrive and dreaming of what she would be like. I hope she loves her room as much as I do and it is a safe place she can call her sanctuary.

I knew before I even began to think what her nursery would look like that I wanted her name in cursive gold lettering. My amazing friend graciously gifted us the wood cut out of her name and we sprayed painted it gold. The wood letter cutting was done by Mulbery House. We had kept Harper’s name a secret the whole time and it was a bit tricky for my friend to gift us this item, but the Mulbery House ladies worked well with us and kept the big secret too.

I didn’t have any type of theme that I was going for but more so I knew the colors and the look/feel that I wanted. I decided not to paint the walls again in this room just to save us the hassle from doing it. But, we decided on an accent of a faux shiplap wall. This wall was done by the amazing Eden Down Home. They installed the faux shiplap for us and we painted the wood a creamy white to give it a homey comfortable feel. I am OBSESSED with this shiplap wall, Joanna Gaines would be proud!

We searched and searched for the perfect affordable rocking chair (nursery chairs are expensive). I was about to give up and just take the plunge in buying an $800 chair when I found this one from Walmart in beige. I loved that it came with an ottoman. I enjoy nursing, snuggling, reading bedtime books to my baby, and rocking her to sleep in this chair.

I kept seeing these flower mobiles all over Pinterest. Well luckily, I have one talented crafty mother who made it with love for Harper’s room. She definitely out did herself and made it better than any Pinterest photos I’ve seen. She also quilted the blanket that is pictured.

The sign you see was purchased from Highland Yard Market.

These crib sheets are from Carousel Designs and were purchased through Amazon. I felt they went perfectly with our colors and feel.

I just had GOLD on my mind and then I found this amazing GOLD CRIB. It took some convincing my husband that I needed to have this gold crib, but I adore it. It is from Wayfair and we ended up getting it on sale!

We already have this dresser in black from IKEA in our bedroom and I had to get it in white for her room. When I was shopping around for dressers all the nursery dressers seemed to be lower which I didn’t like, this dresser is the perfect height for changing diaper. We sprayed painted the knobs a gold to go with the gold touches in her room.

The sign to the left was a gift from my mother, who purchased it at Hobby Lobby. The funny thing is that Harper’s middle name is Grace, my mom had no idea at the time when buying it for her. Serendipitous for sure!

Most of the small accent decor details I just happened to stumble upon while out shopping. The light up heart and picture holder made bow holder are from TJ Maxx. While the sign (also a gift from a friend) and the pacifier jar are from Hobby Lobby.

The curtains are another Amazon purchase from the brand Best Home Fashion.

The gold curtain rod with the sparkle detail is from Sheffield Home.

The cute little banner was also another purchase from Highland Yard Vintage. I went there a couple times hunting for cute items and it always turned up successful.

The other book case you see on the wall behind the chair is from Target. We love this bookcase and keep her favorite book up here for easier access.

The square cubed bookshelf and draws is also another purchase from IKEA. Some of the accessories you see like the message board and pictures frames are from Hobby Lobby.

Some of the pieces in this photos cannot be bought. The little precious pink and white bunny next to the light-up message board was hand knitted with love by her grandmother. The other sentimental item is the silver carousel coin bank. This bank was given to my husband when he was born and was filled with only dimes, from his grandmother. It has now been passed down to Harper to keep and collect only dimes.

The framed bunnies were another fun craft idea from my mom and we also got the idea from Pinterest. The little black teddy bear was my husband’s favorite stuff animal growing and the white bunny was mine. I love having these additions as a piece of us in her room.

The shaggy carpet was the final touch that brought the room together. It was also one of the harder items to pick too. I settled on this pink and cream diamond carpet from Wayfair.

The Hello pillow was another great find from TJ Maxx and the pink and gold polka dotted soft blanket that rests on the rocking chair is from Khols.

This is my favorite place in the house. My only wish is that our little one loves it as much as I loved creating it for her.

Where did you find your little wicker baskets for the cube bookshelf!? So cute. I’m finishing up my nursery and love the baskets.

Hi Missy! Thanks for reaching out! They are from IKEA! I tried to hard to find the link, but they were bought about 7 years ago. I just don’t think they sell the product anymore. But I looked around at their website and they do have stuff that is similar. I hope you have so much fun putting together the nursery. It was probably one of my favorite parts about being pregnant.
